concerts at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, but soon realised that they could only play one piece. However, seeing this as an opportunity rather than an obstacle, they have since toured extensively, delighting music club and festival audiences alike with their accessible and entertaining performances.

Mark Messenger has gathered together a group of highly successful classical musicians of international repute who share a common enthusiasm for jazz. Their technical expertise and enthusiasm enable them to present dazzling programmes, which include their own derangements of Baroque masterpieces, show numbers, Scott Joplin rags and virtuoso violin pieces in irreverent guises. However, they still remain the country’s leading exponents of the virtuoso and quirky works of Claude Bolling.
